We are building and scaling SentinelOne's self-hosted (On-Prem) console, and we're looking for a strong backend software engineer to join the On-Prem team.</p> <p>As our new colleague, you should be excited about building and hardening systems that customers run in their own environments — from air-gapped data centers to private clouds. You should love taking an active role, be comfortable diving into complex, large-scale distributed systems, and enjoy owning the reliability, upgradeability, and operability of software that ships outside of SentinelOne's own infrastructure.</p> <h3>What will you do?</h3> <p>Primary responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>SentinelOne is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Shift Left Security team within Cloud Native Security (CNS) in India — the team that secures customers' code, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure <em>before</em> it ever reaches production.</li> <li>Shift Left Security is a core pillar of SentinelOne's agentless CNAPP. Our toolset secures code right from the start through three primary capabilities: Secret Scanning (detecting 750+ types of hardcoded/leaked credentials across git repositories),<strong> </strong>IaC Scanning (finding misconfigurations in Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and Helm before they ship), and Vulnerability Scanning (surfacing vulnerable dependencies in repositories and container images).</li> <li>We deliver this through deep integrations with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket — cloud and self-hosted) and through our CLI (s1-cns-cli) embedded directly into customer CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>This role is responsible for building and maintaining the high-throughput, resilient scanning services behind these capabilities — systems that autoscale to process hundreds of thousands of scan events per day across multiple regions while keeping customer code safe.</li> <li>We're looking for someone who errs on the side of simplicity, has a passion for craftsmanship in code, and believes deeply in the value of testing — the kind of engineer who writes tests even when nobody is watching.</li> <li>We value engineers who enjoy performance tuning, care about secure handling of sensitive customer data, and are excited about working with distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.</li> <li>This is a hybrid role with 2 days in our Bengaluru office.</li> </ul> <h3>What Skills and Knowledge Should You Bring?</h3> <p>Ideal candidates will have:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development, distributed systems, or data/event processing</li> <li>Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or JavaScript, with a solid grasp of software engineering best practices</li> <li>Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure)</li> <li>Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and containerization (Docker)</li> <li>Good understanding of operating systems, networking, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and messaging/streaming systems such as Kafka</li> <li>Familiarity with event-driven architectures and building resilient, horizontally scalable services</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to code quality and testing practices throughout your career</li> <li>Bias toward simplicity and maintainability in software design</li> <li>Interest in performance and scale testing; you enjoy tuning systems for maximum efficiency</li> <li>Awareness of secure coding practices and careful handling of sensitive data (credentials, customer source code)</li> <li>Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices</li> <li>Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment</li> <li>Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution</li> </ul> <p>Bonus</p> <ul> <li>Contributions to open source projects, particularly in security, developer tooling, or distributed systems</li> <li>Experience working with<strong> </strong>AI coding agents / coding assistants in a development workflow</li> <li>Exposure to DevSecOps tooling, SAST/secret-scanning/IaC-scanning concepts, or CNAPP products</li> <li>Experience with policy-as-code engines (OPA/Rego)</li> <li>Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS, MSSP support, or regulated/FedRAMP environments</li> </ul> <h3>Why SentinelOne?</h3> <p>AI is redefining how the world operates and rewriting the rules of security in real time, and SentinelOne was built for this moment.
