Job Description

GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions and services that help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. By taking a three-tiered, holistic approach for evaluating security posture and ecosystems, GuidePoint enables some of the nation’s top organizations, such as Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies, to identify threats, optimize resources and integrate best-fit solutions that mitigate risk.

General Description

The Practice Lead, Agentic Forward Deployed Engineering is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for building and scaling a new consulting practice in the Northeast region. The ideal candidate will be focused on applying AI and agentic technologies to real-world enterprise challenges. This role integrates practice development, technical strategy, and solution architecture. It requires engineering credibility to move projects from whiteboarding to production prototypes.

The Practice Lead works directly with customers to identify high-value use cases, designs and delivers AI-driven solutions, and builds the team, methodologies, and reusable IP required to scale the capability. Although you will manage a team of engineers, you expected to remain technically engaged with customers and play a hands-on role in strategic and early-stage engagements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent across four delivery teams; build the organizational structure and leadership bench required to support aggressive growth in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Build and scale GuidePoint's Agentic Forward Deployed Engineering practice by defining service offerings, delivery methods, technical standards, and reusable accelerators.
  • Lead customer engagements end-to-end: discovery, architecture design, rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept development, and early production implementations.
  • Design solutions that integrate AI models and agents with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, identity systems, security controls, and cloud environments.
  • Own pre-sales technical strategy — lead customer workshops, technical demonstrations, solution development, proposals, and statements of work alongside account teams.
  • Develop repeatable reference architectures and delivery patterns that enable the practice to scale without sacrificing quality.
  • Recruit and provide technical leadership to Forward Deployed Engineers as the practice grows; establish delivery standards and engineering culture.
  • Partner with Northeast leadership to manage pipeline, delivery capacity, utilization, and practice performance against growth targets.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and development practices; determine where they create meaningful customer value and integrate them into the practice.
  • Build technical capability around strategic technology partners within GuidePoint's ecosystem.
  • Represent GuidePoint externally through executive briefings, industry events, demonstrations, and thought leadership.

 Required Experience:

  • BS/BA in cybersecurity or related field + 10 years of relevant experience or MS/MA + 7 years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years in enterprise technology, software engineering, architecture, or technical consulting with significant experience in senior technical or advisory roles working directly with enterprise customers.
  • Hands-on experience designing or implementing solutions using generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted software engineering including orchestration, retrieval, tool use, context management, and evaluation.
  • Strong technical depth across enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, data architectures, DevSecOps, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Proven consulting skills with the ability to identify the underlying customer problem, translate business needs into technical solutions, and move from prototype to secure, scalable production.
  • Experience developing consulting offerings, reference architectures, accelerators, or repeatable delivery methodologies — with commercial awareness of how technical decisions affect scope, effort, risk, and margin.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or consultants, partnering with sales teams to shape opportunities, and communicating technical value to security leaders and technology executives.
  • Embraces emerging technologies, including AI tools, to work smarter, solve problems, and drive better business outcomes

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% travel primary within the Northeast region

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work
  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
