If you are too, let's talk.</p></div><p>We are looking for a <strong>Staff Full Stack Engineer</strong> to build the user experience for the <strong>Okta Recovery Vault (ORV)</strong>. The ORV is a critical new enterprise-grade capability designed to protect against the accidental or malicious deletion of identity objects. This role is essential to our "Land big, grow fast" strategy, by providing customers with a reliable safety net for their data.</p> <p>You will be responsible for designing and implementing a highly intuitive <strong>self-service recovery UI</strong>. This interface must empower admins to perform complex operations—such as bulk restorations of hundreds of users, managing configurable retention policies, and navigating detailed post-restore checklists—with confidence and ease.</p> <h3><strong>Job Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>UI Development:</strong> Lead the implementation of the Recovery Vault UI, ensuring a seamless experience for authorized admins via the Okta Admin Console.</li> <li><strong>Complex Workflows:</strong> Build interactive interfaces for granular and bulk recovery operations, including async job progress indicators and success notifications.</li> <li><strong>Data Visualization:</strong> Develop the "Captured" data summary view, using visual cues like status icons and tooltips to show admins exactly which credentials and relationships are recoverable at a glance.</li> <li><strong>Advanced Filtering:</strong> Create robust filtering and search components that allow admins to scope deletions by source (Admin UI, Automation, SCIM) and time-based presets (Last 24h, 3 days, 7 days).</li> <li><strong>User Guidance:</strong> Implement interactive post-restore checklists and summary modals to guide admins through manual follow-up actions like MFA re-enrollment and API token reissuance.</li> <li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Partner closely with Lead Product Designers and Product Managers to define the "how" of the user journey, ensuring the UI reduces admin "panic" during critical deletion incidents.</li> <li><strong>Performance:</strong> Ensure the UI remains responsive and performant even when handling large datasets during bulk operations.</li> <li><strong>Backend:</strong> Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features using modern JavaScript and cloud-native technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL).</li> <ul> <li>Lead technical design for key initiatives, driving quality, scalability, and maintainability.</li> <li>Own services throughout their lifecycle — including implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and incident response.</li> </ul> </ul> <h3><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience building modern web applications in a full-stack environment.</li> <li>Deep expertise in TypeScript, ReactJS, and Node.js (Express or similar frameworks).</li> <li>Experience designing APIs and building robust services at scale in a distributed, cloud-based architecture.</li> <li>Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.</li> <li>Experience delivering elegant, enterprise-grade user experiences by partnering with Product and Design teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.</li> <li>Ability to collaborate closely with Architects to make smart technical tradeoffs, and drive alignment across teams.</li> <li>Passion for craftsmanship and high engineering standards (testing, monitoring, documentation, scalability).</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and build consensus across functions.</li> <li>A growth mindset and interest in mentoring others and upleveling the team.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>Nice to Haves</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience building <strong>administrative dashboards</strong> or recovery-focused tools.</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>Identity and Access Management</strong> concepts (Users, Groups, MFA, and RBAC).</li> <li>Experience with <strong>feature flag frameworks</strong> and gradual rollout strategies.</li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>accessibility (A11y)</strong> standards for enterprise software.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>observability platforms</strong> to monitor UI performance and error rates.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Education and Training</strong></h3> <ul> <li>B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.</li> </ul> <p>P24990_3416796&nbsp;</p> <p>#LI_hybrid</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong><br>The Okta Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li><a href="http://rewards.okta.com">Supporting Your Well-Being</a>&nbsp;</li> <li><a href="https://www.okta.com/company/okta-for-good/">Driving Social Impact&nbsp;</a></li> <li><a href="https://www.okta.com/company/talent-connection-community/">Developing Talent and Fostering Connection + Community</a></li> </ul> <p>We are intentional about connection.
