About the Role

Abnormal AI is looking for a Principal, Strategy & Transformation to join the Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy team. This team supports our sales, marketing, and customer success functions to identify and execute against strategic GTM initiatives.

This is an AI-native, vertically integrated role. At most companies, this work sits on a pyramid: an analyst pulls the data and builds the model, a manager shapes the narrative, and someone at the associate-partner level packages it and runs the room with senior stakeholders. We want one person to collapse that pyramid. Source the data yourself, build the model, and run the analysis, with AI doing the heavy lifting. Then package it into a sharp recommendation and manage the senior stakeholders yourself, with the judgment of someone who's done this at the partner level. AI isn't a productivity perk here. It's the reason this can be one seat instead of three.

The job doesn't stop at the recommendation. You're not accountable for another team's execution outcomes, but you are expected to drive execution, especially the cross-functional kind: make sure the teams doing the work have context, keep the timeline honest, and escalate up the chain when something stalls.

What You'll Do

• Frame and break down complex business problems, develop hypotheses, and drive the analysis to a recommendation, using AI tools (LLMs, coding agents, SQL/Python copilots) as your default workflow, not a side experiment
• Build and iterate on analyses, models, and dashboards on your own that would traditionally take a team of analysts
• Work across a cross-functional set of stakeholders: gather the right information, pressure-test your hypotheses, and co-create deliverables
• Present recommendations that hold up under executive scrutiny
• Drive cross-functional execution after the recommendation lands. Make sure the teams doing the work have context, keep the timeline honest, and escalate when something's off track
• Wear whatever hat the problem needs: strategy one week, project management the next, hands-on execution after that
• Coach analysts and Strategy team members on using AI to extend their own output

Must Haves

• High agency. You see a problem and go solve it. You don't wait for the perfect data set or someone's permission to start.
• AI-fluent by default, not by exception. You already use AI tools, Claude, ChatGPT, coding and analysis agents, as your primary way of working through analysis and modeling. You can prompt and iterate well enough to produce what would normally take a small analyst team.
• Vertically integrated. You do the analyst-level work yourself (data pulls, modeling, analysis) and the associate-partner-level work (packaging the recommendation, managing senior stakeholders), without handing either half to someone else.
• Ownership that doesn't end at the recommendation. You'll chase cross-functional execution, keep teams honest on timing, and escalate before something quietly slips.
• 3+ years post-MBA, with at least 2 in management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), private equity, or a top-tier tech strategy/bizops function or equivalent demonstrated output. AI leverage means the right candidate may not fit the traditional mold.
• MBA from a top-tier B-school, or a "direct promote" track record in consulting.
• Deep experience in enterprise tech; cybersecurity knowledge is a plus, not a requirement.
• Comfortable building relationships and leading through influence without formal authority.
• Experience managing projects and large-scale transformations.
• Strong verbal and written communication with senior audiences, both business and technical.
• A self-starter who does well with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Haves

• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT's data analysis mode) to build lightweight tools or automations, not just prose or slides
• Background in cybersecurity or another high-growth SaaS category

Actual compensation will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Base salary range:$172,100—$247,500 USD
