Product Marketing Director

The Basics:

As Director of Product Marketing for Tanium’s Autonomous MSP solution, you will own the positioning, messaging, launches, and partner-facing marketing for a growing part of Tanium’s business. MSPs already run on Tanium today, and we are investing to make Tanium the platform managed service providers standardize on. The Autonomous MSP solution gives them a fundamentally different way to operate: with Tanium Atlas, the platform surfaces the most important things that matter across all of an MSP’s customers, cutting through the alert fatigue of traditional tools and letting operators act at scale rather than customer by customer. 

You will be the person who translates that value into an offering an MSP can adopt, bundle into a managed service, and sell to its own customers. You will market to two audiences at once: to MSPs, convincing them to adopt and build a practice on Tanium’s platform, and through MSPs, arming their sellers to bring Tanium to end customers. You will set the strategy and the story, and draw on Tanium’s corporate marketing, field marketing, and partner enablement teams to bring it to market at scale. 

You will work as part of the Autonomous MSP product team with a direct line into product management and engineering to influence functionality, roadmap priorities, packaging, and pricing. Beyond the team, you will work closely with product marketers in other solution areas, such as Exposure Management and Endpoint Management, as well as partner sales, partner enablement, finance, corporate and field marketing, analyst relations, and Tanium’s MSP partners. 

This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What You’ll Do:

• Own positioning and messaging for the MSP audience, translating the Autonomous MSP value proposition into outcomes MSPs care about: technician productivity, margin, service differentiation, and customer retention 
• Own launches for the Autonomous MSP solution, including announcement narrative, launch content, field and partner readiness, and post-launch iteration based on partner feedback 
• Set the vision for how the Autonomous MSP solution is presented on tanium.com, including the MSP landing experience, partner-facing pages, and the content journey from first visit to partner inquiry, working with web and digital marketing to bring it to life 
• Own partner-facing content and the through-partner marketing motion, working with field marketing and partner enablement to produce co-brandable content, sales playbooks, battle cards, ROI tools, and training for MSP sales, technical, and service-delivery teams 
• Partner with Tanium’s product marketers across solution areas to adapt their positioning and content for MSPs, so the full platform story lands with an MSP audience 
• Turn early design-partner engagements into proof points, reference stories, and speaking opportunities 
• Represent Tanium in the MSP community at industry events, partner engagements, virtual events, and webinars 
• Track the MSP competitive landscape (RMM-native security, MSP-focused security vendors, AI-native MSP tooling, incumbent endpoint platforms) and, with analyst relations and PR, establish Tanium’s differentiation and credibility as a platform for MSPs and MSSPs 
• Share responsibility with partner sales and product management for the MSP GTM plan and the cross-functional cadence that tracks outcomes, gathers partner feedback, and cascades it into product direction, pricing, and program design 

Experience:

• Education 
  • BA or BS required 
  • MBA preferred 
• Experience 
  • 8+ years in product marketing, partner marketing, channel marketing, or outbound product management at a B2B technology company 
  • Direct experience marketing a technology platform to or through managed service providers, at a vendor whose revenue runs substantially through MSPs, at an MSP, or at a distributor or marketplace serving MSPs, with working fluency in the MSP ecosystem (RMM and PSA platforms, distributors and marketplaces, peer groups, and industry events) 
  • Demonstrated understanding of MSP business models, including how MSPs price and margin managed services, and what drives their tooling and platform decisions 
  • Experience taking a new offering or route to market from pre-launch through launch, including field and partner readiness 
  • Exposure to packaging, pricing, and licensing for channel or consumption-based models
• Preferred 
  • Experience marketing AI, automation, or agentic capabilities to a technical operator audience 
  • Experience in endpoint management or cybersecurity, particularly MSP or managed security service offerings 
  • Existing relationships across the MSP community, and public speaking or industry-event experience 

• Other 
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to write for a practitioner-owner audience that is skeptical of enterprise marketing 
  • Comfortable as a hands-on individual contributor who produces the work directly, while operating at a director level of strategic ownership and navigating a large organization to get it done 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for partner engagements and industry events

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 to $253,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
