Senior Backend Engineer

We sell to industries with large, consumer-facing businesses such as banking, financial services, insurance, fintech, gaming, ecommerce/retail, telco/media, and utilities.

 

About the Role
FlexID is Transmit Security’s identity orchestration platform, trusted by some of the world’s largest financial institutions, including Citi, HSBC, UBS and, here in Israel, Bank Leumi, to authenticate millions of their customers. We’re looking for a senior backend engineer to build and evolve a mission-critical system where reliability, security and correctness really matter.

 

What you’ll do:

• Build new features: login flows, passkeys (FIDO2/WebAuthn), device binding, policies and APIs
• Write backend code every day. We're in Scala, with Akka, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis and Kafka
• Keep the codebase healthy: upgrade stuff, fix vulnerabilities, add tests, clean things up without breaking customers
• Dig into real production issues when a customer needs help, and enjoy solving them
• Help teammates grow through reviews and good conversations
• Use AI tools like Claude Code day to day

 

What you’ll need:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Engineering from a leading university
• 5+ years building large-scale backend systems
• Strong system design and architecture skills
• Strong backend experience in Java, Scala, C#, or TypeScript. We develop with Claude Code, so strong engineering fundamentals matter more than any specific language
• An ownership mindset: independent, persistent, and focused on getting things done

  Nice to have:

• Identity management / authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, FIDO)
• Web security experience
• Experience delivering enterprise software, both on-prem and cloud
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
