Job Description

About Us

At Armadin, we're a group of engineers, researchers, and security researchers on a mission to redefine what proactive security can do in the AI era. Cyberattacks are becoming autonomous and relentless and we believe defending against threats before they materialize is one of the most powerful ways to protect the institutions the world depends on.

We're building autonomous proactive security from the ground up, reinforcing the tradecraft of elite security practioners into purpose-built security models and agents that discover risk and remediate it before organizations are breached.

Led by Kevin Mandia, founder of Mandiant ($5.4B exit to Google), our team brings together researchers and engineers from Google, xAI, Meta, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Waterloo, Berkeley, and MIT to reinvent security for an adversary that never sleeps.

Role Overview

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you'll own financial planning and cost architecture across two critical pillars: Services costs (our go-to-market delivery engine) and AI/compute infrastructure (the heartbeat of our autonomous systems). This isn't a spreadsheet role. You're building cost models from scratch, working across technical and operational teams, and making sure every dollar spent maps to a strategic outcome.

You'll partner directly with Expertise and Product leadership teams. You'll own the monthly cost close, build forecasts that inform hiring and feature decisions, and create feedback loops that show product teams what it actually costs to run their systems. You'll operate with radical autonomy and speed.

What You'll Do

Own Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) & Services Planning

  • Partner with Services leadership to forecast and optimize costs; understand capacity and resource allocation, build monthly COGS close with variance analysis

  • Create the services cost model that informs pricing, scope, and delivery decisions

  • Publish monthly cost reports and KPIs; identify optimization opportunities in staffing, subcontractor costs, and delivery efficiency

Lead AI & Compute Cost Architecture

  • Design and build cloud, inference, and LLM cost model from scratch; establish baselines, identify cost drivers and build forecasts that inform product roadmap decisions

  • Track cloud spend, API costs, LLM token consumption, and inference infrastructure; identify anomalies and optimization levers

  • Create product-facing cost transparency; explain AI cost economics to leadership, investors, and the board

Drive FP&A Planning & Operations

  • Own monthly close, quarterly forecast, and annual budget; build rolling forecasts for hiring, pricing, and resourcing decisions

  • Conduct variance analysis to diagnose spend and margin drivers

  • Present financial reviews to leadership and board; model strategic implications (new markets, pricing, M&A)

Build for Scale & Automation

  • Design workflows, standards, and processes that scale; write SQL queries and build spreadsheet models

  • Automate recurring tasks (cost pulls, variance calculations, report generation)

  • Evaluate and implement tools that improve planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities

Partner with Leadership on Strategic Decisions.

  • Present financial reviews to leadership and board; model strategic implications (new markets, pricing, M&A)

  • Act as a business partner to Inform decisions on headcount, pricing, go-to-market strategy, and infrastructure scaling

What You'll Bring

  • 5โ€“7 years FP&A or finance ideally in SaaS; understand subscription economics, unit economics, and P&L impact at scale

  • Startup operator mentality: self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, owns outcomes independently

  • Advanced Excel (formulas, macros), SQL, and light scripting; can pull data, build models, and automate reporting

  • AI/LLM cost modeling experience or ability to learn quickly (cloud infrastructure, inference, token APIs valuable)

  • Clear communicator: explains complex financial concepts to engineers, product leaders, and executives

Even Better With

  • Direct experience with AI/LLM cost models or compute-intensive infrastructure (cloud, inference, data pipelines)

  • High-growth SaaS, security, or infrastructure startup background with significant venture funding

  • Experience building or scaling an FP&A function; partnering with product/engineering on financial trade-offs and pricing

  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools

  • Familiarity with Harvest or similar time-tracking software

  • History of working high-autonomy, high-stakes environments
