This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA metro areas.

About the Job

This role will define and drive the product strategy, roadmap and market direction for Keeper’s certificate lifecycle management capabilities. The ideal candidate brings direct experience in certificate management, public key infrastructure, machine identity or a closely related cybersecurity market and understands how enterprises discover, issue, renew, rotate, revoke and govern certificates across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments. This is a highly technical product role that requires close partnership with Engineering, Security, Solutions and customers on PKI architecture, certificate authorities, cryptographic standards, automation workflows, APIs and enterprise integrations. The Senior Technical Product Manager will translate complex customer, technical and market requirements into secure, scalable and intuitive capabilities that improve visibility, reduce certificate-related risk and support automated lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for Keeper’s certificate lifecycle management capabilities
  • Identify and prioritize product opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, competitive intelligence and business impact
  • Develop a deep understanding of certificate and machine identity workflows across security, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud and application teams
  • Translate technical requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and execution plans
  • Partner closely with Engineering on certificate discovery, issuance, renewal, rotation, revocation, policy enforcement and automation capabilities
  • Define product requirements for integrations with public and private certificate authorities, cloud platforms, load balancers, web servers, Kubernetes environments and DevOps toolchains
  • Work with customers, Solutions Engineering and Support to understand certificate-management challenges, validate requirements and improve adoption
  • Shape administrator and developer experiences across certificate inventory, enrollment, deployment, monitoring, alerting and remediation workflows
  • Define capabilities that improve certificate visibility, ownership, expiration management, cryptographic compliance and operational resilience
  • Evaluate competitive products and market developments across certificate lifecycle management, PKI, machine identity and cryptographic agility
  • Define and track product success metrics, including adoption, certificates under management, automation rates, renewal success, risk reduction and revenue contribution
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Security, Marketing, Sales, Solutions and Documentation to support product launches and go-to-market execution
  • Use AI-enabled tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or similar platforms to improve product research, technical analysis, requirements development, documentation and day-to-day execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management, product architecture or related experience with technical, infrastructure-focused or cybersecurity products
  • Direct experience working with certificate lifecycle management, PKI, machine identity, cryptographic key management or a closely related cybersecurity product
  • Strong understanding of the certificate lifecycle, including discovery, inventory, enrollment, issuance, deployment, renewal, rotation, revocation and expiration management
  • Strong knowledge of PKI concepts, certificate authorities, certificate chains, trust stores, private keys and X.509 certificates
  • Familiarity with certificate protocols and standards such as ACME, SCEP, EST, OCSP, CRL and TLS
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, automation, authentication, cloud infrastructure and enterprise system integrations
  • Ability to read technical documentation, understand implementation details and work effectively with engineers on architecture, requirements and tradeoffs
  • Experience defining and delivering security-sensitive, infrastructure-focused or integration-heavy product capabilities
  • Familiarity with certificate-management use cases across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments
  • Strong customer discovery, market analysis and product prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex PKI and cryptographic concepts for executive, customer and engineering audiences
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments
  • Ability and willingness to use AI-enabled tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or similar platforms to support research, technical analysis, documentation, prioritization and workflow efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product management or product architecture experience with a certificate lifecycle management or machine identity platform
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Keyfactor, DigiCert, Venafi, AppViewX, Sectigo or similar products
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services or other public and private certificate authority environments
  • Experience supporting certificate automation across Kubernetes, service meshes, cloud workloads, CI/CD pipelines, web servers, load balancers and network devices
  • Familiarity with hardware security modules, key management systems and cloud key-management services
  • Understanding of certificate policy, cryptographic standards, algorithm transitions and crypto-agility requirements
  • Experience with regulated or security-sensitive enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience using APIs, command-line tools, scripts or technical prototypes to test certificate-management workflows
  • Experience with machine identities, non-human identities, secrets management or privileged access management
  • Experience launching and growing technical SaaS, security or infrastructure products
  • Experience using AI-assisted product development or technical research workflows to accelerate discovery, analysis, documentation or prototyping

7. Retention

We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.

  • You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
  • You're hired (transfers to employee records)
