Great recruiting experiences don’t happen by accident. Behind every candidate who moves smoothly through an interview process, every hiring manager who knows what happens next, and every new hire who starts excited and prepared, there’s someone making sure all the pieces come together.
If you love keeping things moving, solving problems before they become problems, and finding better ways to work, we’d love to talk.
At Expel, our Talent Acquisition team partners across the business to find and hire the people who help us continue building one of the most trusted names in cybersecurity. As a Talent Operations Associate, you’ll play a critical role in keeping that engine moving with speed, quality, and an exceptional candidate experience.
You’ll own much of the operational backbone of our recruiting process, from interview coordination and candidate communication through offer and preboarding, while also getting opportunities to flex into sourcing, recruiting programs, systems, automation, and early-stage candidate assessment. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply wait for someone to send you a calendar request. We’re looking for someone who sees what needs to happen next, takes ownership, and helps us continuously build a better way of recruiting.
What Expel can do for you
- Give you exposure to recruiting across a cybersecurity company, with opportunities to learn what great talent looks like across technical, go-to-market, and corporate teams.
- Give you ownership beyond traditional recruiting coordination, with room to grow into sourcing, recruiting operations, candidate assessment, programs, analytics, and automation.
- Let you work closely with hiring managers, interviewers, and leaders across the business while developing your own recruiting and operational judgment.
- Give you opportunities to experiment with AI, automation, and new workflows that reduce repetitive work and help our recruiting team move faster.
- Put you in an environment where identifying a broken process and saying, “I think there’s a better way to do this,” is encouraged.
- Give you the chance to help shape how Talent Acquisition operates as our business and hiring needs continue to evolve.
What you can do for Expel
- Own interview coordination end to end, including complex panels and cross-time-zone scheduling, while keeping candidates moving through the process with urgency.
- Own candidate communication throughout the interview lifecycle, including scheduling, preparation, reschedules, follow-up, offer-stage coordination, and preboarding touchpoints.
- Partner proactively with recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers to secure availability, solve scheduling constraints, and prevent candidates from unnecessarily sitting in process.
- Keep Greenhouse and our recruiting workflows clean and actionable, including candidate records, interview plans, scorecards, approvals, stage movement, and reporting.
- Flex into sourcing for priority roles by translating intake criteria into target profiles, building searches, identifying strong talent, and creating thoughtful outreach.
- Build enough fluency in Expel, cybersecurity, and our talent bar to understand why someone is a strong candidate beyond simply matching keywords on a resume.
- As you grow, support initial candidate qualification and selected recruiter screens, providing clear and evidence-based recommendations back to the hiring team.
- Help coordinate offers, background checks, pre-employment requirements, and clean handoffs into onboarding.
- Partner with our onboarding and Employee Experience teams when additional support is needed to make sure new hires know what to expect and arrive ready for day one.
- Identify friction across our recruiting process and help build better templates, workflows, automations, AI-assisted tools, interviewer resources, and repeatable programs that make hiring easier and more scalable.
What you should bring with you
- 2+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, recruiting operations, talent acquisition, sourcing, or a similarly fast-moving people or customer operations environment.
- Experience owning complex interview scheduling and candidate communication, with the ability to manage a lot of moving pieces without letting details fall through the cracks.
- A high-ownership mentality. You’re comfortable figuring out what needs to happen next rather than waiting for every step to be assigned.
- Strong candidate and customer instincts. You care about how people experience the process and communicate proactively when something changes.
- The confidence to respectfully push for decisions, feedback, or availability when something is at risk of stalling.
- Experience working in Greenhouse ATS and similar recruiting workflows.
- An interest in sourcing and the ability to learn how to translate a role intake into a target candidate profile. Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, or other sourcing channels is strongly preferred.
- A builder mindset. You notice repetitive work and broken processes and naturally start thinking about how they could be simplified, automated, or eliminated.
- Comfort experimenting with AI and automation tools while applying good judgment and validating the output.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with candidates, peers, hiring managers, interviewers, and company leaders.
- The ability to operate in ambiguity, juggle changing priorities, and keep moving without needing a perfectly defined playbook.
- Experience expanding beyond traditional coordination into sourcing, recruiting programs, analytics, ATS/process ownership, interviewer enablement, or onboarding is a strong plus.
- A degree or a compelling story. We care much more about what you’ve done, how you operate, and what you’re capable of learning.
